“We still need human experts to conduct complex and sophisticated operations, as gen-AI is quite stupid at these tasks, and will probably remain the same in the near future,” warns Ilia Kolochenko, CEO at Immuniweb, and partner in cybersecurity at Platt Law LLP. “While some vendors pompously advertise ‘automated penetration testing’ or claim that their AI has replaced human experts, it is technically inaccurate and incorrect, to put it mildly.”
He also raises regulatory concerns. “In law, the notion of a penetration test remains pretty stable: involvement of independent and qualified human experts.” He warns that providing regulators with a report generated by an AI tool could lead to penalties. Read Full Article
